There’s a lot of hype behind him right now and whilst I haven’t bought a ticket on his hype train yet, I also haven’t seen anything from Beneil Dariush which suggests that he can be the guy that breaks Ferreira’s winning streak. Dariush and Ferreira are primarily Jiu Jitsu fighters, but they’re both very far apart when it comes to grappling. Dariush has only been practicing BJJ for 5 years, where as Ferreira is a 3rd degree Black Belt with his own Jiu Jitsu gym in America. Dariush may be skilled on the ground, but he isn’t in the same league as Ferreira… Dariush’s inexperience is still glaringly obvious when he fights, because he’s still working hard to put all of his skills together. When he fights, he’s either in striking mode, grappling mode, clinch mode or Jiu Jitsu mode. But when he’s in one of those modes, he struggles to incorporate the rest of his skills. For example; if he’s in the clinch, you’ll rarely see him throw strikes or look for takedowns and when he’s on the ground, you’ll rarely see him try to create openings with ground and pound. This puts him at a big disadvantage against Carlos Diego Ferreira, because Ferreira does a really good job of putting it all together. Carlos Diego Ferreira has decent striking for a predominantly Jiu Jitsu fighter and he’s also developed knock out power in his punches and kicks. I believe that striking will be where this fight is decided and I can see Ferreira easily picking Dariush apart until he knocks him out or wins via decision. Dariush doesn’t throw a high enough volume of strikes to outpoint Ferreira, he’s at a big disadvantage on the ground and Ferreira does a great job of staying light on his feet to avoid getting knocked out. As a result, I don’t see any way that Dariush can win this fight… Carlos Diego Ferreira is simply better than Beneil Dariush in every single aspect of MMA and with the Brazilian crowd on his side, this should be a relatively easy fight… OUR BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units on Carlos Diego Ferreira to win at odds of 1.60 | -167 | 3/5 The best odds on Carlos Diego Ferreira to win can be found at: [adrotate group=”70″] [adrotate group=”71″] [divider] ANDRE FILI vs FELIPE ARANTES Andre Fili and Felipe Arantes are two exciting fighters who like to stand and bang. The winner of this fight will be the guy who can take the center of the Octagon and impose his will and Fili is much better at doing that than Arantes. Felipe Arantes is a vicious striker with a well rounded skill set, but he’s only effective when his opponent allows him to take control of the fight. If Arantes gets pressured by a more aggressive fighter, he ends up fighting tentatively and worrying more about what his opponent is going to do, instead of what he is going to do. Andre Fili has a good enough chin to take Arantes’ best strikes and impose his aggressive gameplan on the Brazilian. Fili is the kind of guy who likes to stay in the pocket and trade punches and whilst Arantes also likes to do that, Fili is far more willing to keep moving forward in the face of adversity, where as Arantes almost always retreats and gets trapped with his back against the cage. Felipe Arantes really struggles against fighters who pressure him and Andre Fili is super aggressive and never gives his opponents a second to breathe. Arantes likes to start fast, but he tends to fade in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of a fight, where as Fili can often maintain his high pressure style of fighting for all 3 rounds. Arantes has good Jiu Jitsu, but overall I feel that Andre Fili is the more well rounded fighter. He may not be as technical as Arantes, but he certainly has better wrestling, better takedowns and he’s a rangey striker who has power in his hands. If this fight was in any other country in the world, I’d be feeling super confident that Andre Fili would win. Unfortunately, this fight is taking place in Brazil and Arantes is really popular over there. The crowd will cheer every time he lands a punch, the judges will be more likely to score rounds in his favour and the referees are more likely to stand the fight up if Fili lands a take down. I’m still confident that Fili will win, but Arantes is tough to finish and I’m not confident enough in Brazilian officials to risk 10 units betting on a non Brazilian fighter competing in Brazil for the first time. I recommend you place 5 units on Fili to win and we’ll still make a nice profit if he gets the job done, whilst at the same time keeping our losses to a minimum if we get screwed by hometown advantage. OUR BETTING TIP: 5.00 Units on Andre Fili to win at odds of 1.83 | -120 | 83/100 The best odds on Andre Fili to win can be found at: [adrotate group=”68″] [adrotate group=”69″] - 0 Share on Facebook Share on X
