ALBERT TUMENOV vs ANTHONY LAPSLEY

It’s hard to go to Brazil and win, especially if it’s your first time fighting in the UFC. Octagon jitters can massively effect a fighter’s performance and Albert Tumenov stepped into the lions den when he faced Ildemar Alcantara in Brazil in his UFC debut back in February.

Despite losing his debut fight via split decision, Tumenov showed decent cardio on a night in Brazil where nearly all non Brazilian fighters gassed within 2 rounds. He also looked great on the ground and showed off some explosive striking.

With one fight in the UFC under his belt, I expect Tumenov to be too much for Lapsley to handle. The Russian has much better striking, excellent ground and pound and decent grappling.

Anthony Lapsley is now 34 years old and Albert Tumenov is just 22. When there is an age gap this big, the younger fighter wins around 75% of the time. The smart money is on Tumenov in this fight and the odds are dropping fast. Place your bets as soon as possible to get maximum value for your money!

OUR BET: 10.00 Units on Albert Tumenov to win at odds of 1.53 | -188 | 53/100

BEN WALL vs JUSTIN SALAS

I’m not sure why Ben Wall is fighting in the UFC. He looked sloppy on the Ultimate Fighter and he got completely destroyed in his debut against Alex Garcia.

Justin Salas has a massive striking advantage in this fight and he’s also a better grappler. This poses a big problem for the Australian, as Wall will no doubt be looking to take this fight to the ground.

This is a pretty safe bet considering Ben Wall is outmatched in every area this fight could take place and he hasn’t finished an opponent in the last 4 years.

OUR BET: 10.00 Units Justin Salas to win at odds of 1.44 | -227 | 11/25

RUAN POTTS vs SOA PALELEI

Ruan Potts is another fighter who doesn’t belong in the UFC. There aren’t many high level South African fighters around and I can only assume that the UFC signed Potts in order to try and pick up some fans in South Africa.

Soa Palelei should absolutely destroy Ruan Potts. He has a massive striking advantage and good enough take down defence to keep this fight standing.

OUR BET: 10.00 Units Soa Palelei to win at odds of 1.44 | -227 | 11/25

COSTAS PHILIPPOU vs LORENZ LARKIN

Lorenz Larkin has a clear advantage over Costas Philippou.

Both these guys are strikers, but Philippou is more of a traditional, one dimensional boxer, whereas Larkin is a powerful Karate / Kick Boxer with excellent kicks and unorthodox striking techniques. Larkin also has a massive speed advantage over Philippou.

Costas Philippou lost his last fight due to a devastating body kick at the hands of Luke Rockhold and I wouldn’t rule out the same outcome in this fight. Larkin’s kicks are brutal and they’re going to be the difference in this match up.

In order for Philippou to win, he’s going to have to knock Larkin out and that’s not going to be easy considering the fact that Larkin has never been knocked out in 16 career fights…

OUR BET: 10.00 Units Lorenz Larkin to win at odds of 1.44 | -227 | 11/25

2 FIGHT PARLAY ACCUMULATOR

There are two absolute stonewall banker bets at UFC Fight Night 40, but the odds are too small to play them individually, so I’m going to parlay them instead.

The first part of the parlay accumulator is Nik Lentz to beat Manny Gamburyan. Both these guys are grapplers but Lentz is bigger, stronger and has better top control. This isn’t going to be a very exciting fight to watch, but Lentz should easily dominate Gamburyan on the ground.

The second part of the parlay accumulator is Eddie Wineland to beat Johnny Eduardo. Wineland is one of the most powerful fighters in the UFC’s Bantamweight division and Johnny Eduardo is returning to action for the first time in 2 years. Ring rust is a big issue in MMA and Wineland’s not the type of guy you want to be facing as you ease yourself back into competition. Wineland should smash Eduardo in this fight…

OUR BET: 10.00 Units Eddie Wineland and Nik Lentz to win at odds of 1.58 | -172 | 29/50
