Poor performances from Lorenz Larkin and Mike Easton put an end to our 3 event winning streak in which we managed to bank a total profit of 37.10 units.
A loss of 14.4 Units on this event puts a slight dent in our profits, but we’re still delighted to have banked so heavily in the last 30 days from betting on the UFC. If we had to write our betting tips again, we wouldn’t change anything and we feel like our reasoning behind our tips was completely justified.
The cold hard fact about both our losses is that both Mike Easton and Lorenz Larkin under performed and a win for either fighter would have put us in profit for the night. Still, you can’t win them all, so lets take a look at how each of our betting tips played out…
COLE MILLER v SAM SICILIA
WE CORRECTLY PREDICTED COLE MILLER TO WIN THIS FIGHT
Cole Miller looked great in this fight and wasted no time in calling out Donald Cerrone in his post fight interview. The UFC veteran is looking better and better with every fight he was never in any danger of losing this one.
Miller used his significant size and reach advantage to keep Sicilia at range and pick him apart with snappy combinations, before landing a big shot that knocked him down in the second round. Miller then pounced on Sicilia and locked in the rear naked choke. It was impressive an impressive performance.
The fight played out pretty much exactly like we said it would, but it was also nice to see Miller demonstrate some powerful striking, something that has been missing from his game in recent fights.

MIKE EASTON v TJ DILLASHAW
WE INCORRECTLY PREDICTED MIKE EASTON TO WIN THIS FIGHT
This was a really bad night for Mike Easton and after 3 consecutive losses, you have to wonder where he goes from here.
TJ Dillashaw completely dominated the entire fight and Easton seems to have lost the explosiveness that made him so dangerous in his past fights. He was out-classed, out-performed and out-fought in this one.
Easton had all the tools necessary to beat Dillashaw, but it just felt like he was holding back throughout the fight. His stellar takedown defence that he has used throughout his career, seemed to have gone missing and Dillashaw appeared to be just a little bit stronger and a little bit faster in almost every area this fight took place.
This was always going to be a fight that could’ve gone either way, but the odds on Mike Easton were too good to turn down. We had to go with him to win this fight and he lost. A win for him would have brought us a big pay day, so we have to say that backing him to win was a good bet. On another night he could’ve beaten Dillashaw, but Easton’s place in the UFC might now be at risk.

BRAD TAVARES v LORENZ LARKIN
WE INCORRECTLY PREDICTED LORENZ LARKIN TO WIN THIS FIGHT
You would have had to look pretty hard to find a professional gambler that gave Brad Tavares any chance of winning this fight. The young Hawaiian matched up badly against Larkin, but managed to pull off an upset win by outstriking and outworking his opponent, who was a big favourite to win this fight.
This was an extremely frustrating fight for people who had money on Larkin, as he seriously under performed and never got going. He failed to use his powerful striking combinations and never even attempted to land a takedown on Tavares.
Larkin was a big favourite in this fight and if he fought to his full potential he could have made quick work of Tavares. Maybe Larkin was carrying an injury or maybe he was disheartened after Tavares ate one of his big shots like a Sandwhich in the first round and came back fighting strong. Who knows what caused Larkin to perform so badly, but he was the right fighter to bet on here.
We lost on this one, but it’s important to remember that you will always make a profit from betting on MMA if you use good Bankroll Management and consistently bet on the fighters with the best chance of winning.
