CODY MCKENZIE v SAM STOUT

WE CORRECTLY PREDICTED SAM STOUT TO WIN THIS FIGHT

Sam Stout to beat Cody McKenzie was probably the safest bet of the night. Stout is used to competing against opponents of a much higher skillset than McKenzie and as a result he was never in any real danger of losing this fight.

Stout completely dominated McKenzie for 3 rounds and eventually picked up the unanimous decision win. Mckenzie didn’t mount any offense and the fight went down pretty much exactly like we said it would…

JOE LAUZON v MAC DANZIG

WE CORRECTLY PREDICTED JOE LAUZON TO WIN THIS FIGHT

This is another fight that played out exactly like we said it would. Lauzon was able to get the best of Danzig on the ground and as soon as Danzig caught him with some good shots, Lauzon took him down and dominated him on the ground.

Lauzon came close to finishing the fight a few times with dangerous submissions, but Danzig was able to use his considerable experience to fend off Lauzon’s submission attempts.

Mac Danzig has now lost 3 fights in a row and it may be the last time we see him competing in the UFC, although Dana White was reluctant to make a decision on the UFC veterans future during the post fight press conference. When a journalist asked White if Danzig would be cut, White simply responded by saying “I don’t know, I don’t make decisions like that right after a fight. I guess we’ll see.”

MICHAEL MCDONALD v URIJAH FABER

WE CORRECTLY PREDICTED URIJAH FABER TO WIN THIS FIGHT

Age isn’t slowing down Urijah Faber, as the 34 year old seems to be getting better with every fight. Faber made quick work work of Michael McDonald by knocking him down in the second round, before pouncing on him to lock in the guillotine submission.

Faber is now well and truly in the Bantamweight title picture and he is sure to be next in line to fight the winner of the upcoming Dominick Cruz v Renan Barao Bantamweight title fight.

The Californian Kid has been chasing the UFC gold throughout his career and I for one hope that he seals the deal in 2014.

DEMETRIOUS JOHNSON v JOSEPH BENAVIDEZ

WE INCORRECTLY PREDICTED JOSEPH BENAVIDEZ TO WIN THIS FIGHT

I was a little shocked and a little disappointed at the way this fight ended. Kudos to Demetrious Johnson for pulling off such a great knock out, but it was the first of his career and completely unexpected due to the closeness of his first fight with Joseph Benavidez.

We got this one totally wrong, but I guess you can’t win em’ all…
