VIP Betting Picks for Bellator 143 – Davis vs Warren

We banked a solid profit of 2.55 units on last week’s Bellator card and I’m hoping to build on that by making even more money on this event. I’ve only got one pick for this event, but it’s a rock solid pick at decent odds and I feel very confident that it will win. September hasn’t been the best month for betting on MMA, but we’ve still managed to go 5-1 on our bets for a small profit. After a difficult start to September, I feel really confident that we’re going to build on our recent run of good results and make even more money from our bets on Bellator, the UFC and ONE Championship this weekend.

JOE WARREN vs LC DAVIS BETTING TIP

I love betting on Joe Warren because he’s extremely difficult to beat unless you can finish him inside the distance or neutralize his smothering style of fighting. It’s so hard to win a decision against him, because it’s almost impossible to outwork him. He’s the type of guy that will take you a couple of rounds to adjust to and by then you’re already significantly down on the scorecards. Warren fights at such a high pace and he doesn’t give his opponent’s any room to breathe. LC Davis is not known for his ability to finish his opponent’s with 4 out of his last 5 fights all going to a decision and I don’t believe he’ll be able to stop Warren from tieing him up or taking him down.

Warren is extremely good at closing the distance and securing full body locks on his opponent. From that position, he’s excellent at taking the back, dragging his opponent’s to the ground or controlling guys in the clinch. LC Davis struggled to secure underhooks against Hideo Tokoro in his last fight, which means Warren should have no problem securing the full body lock on Davis and controlling him for the majority of this fight.

In order to stop Warren from closing the distance you need to have solid defensive wrestling, great footwork or the power to back Warren up with strikes. Davis doesn’t possess any of those skills, which means Warren should easily be able to rush Davis, pin his back against the cage and dictate where this fight takes place.

I believe that both these guys are pretty equal when it comes to striking, but I believe that Davis will be so scared to engage for fear of being taken down, that he will go into a tentative, defensive shell. LC Davis lacks knockout power and Joe Warren has a good chin. I definitely feel like Warren can get the better of the standup exchanges in this fight.

Joe Warren should easily be able to win this fight by outworking Davis and by leaving a lasting impression on the judges score cards by taking Davis down and controlling him on the ground.

I believe Warren should be a much bigger favourite in this fight, at the current odds he is a great bet.

MY BETTING TIP: 3.5 Units [3.5% of your bankroll] on Joe Warren to win at odds of 1.61 | -165 | 61/100
