We took a few gambles than we normally would on the last UFC event and ended up narrowly missing out on making a big profit. Now, we are going back to basics with our betting tips for UFC Fight Night 81 by sticking to 4 rock solid bets that should all win. I feel very confident that our 4 bets for this event will help us make a good amount of money this weekend.

Anthony Pettis vs Eddie Alvarez Betting Tip Prediction
Anthony Pettis to beat Eddie Alvarez is one of those rock solid bets that should easily win unless something totally crazy happens. Pettis is simply too skilled for Alvarez in every single aspect of MMA.
Eddie Alvarez is predominantly a striker, but his striking defence is very poor and he takes a ton of damage in almost all of his fights. This makes him a sitting duck for a highly skilled technician like Pettis, who can stay on the outside and pick Eddie apart with his fast and accurate strikes.
Eddie Alvarez is well known for his toughness and durability, but Pettis can finish a fight from any position, at any time. Eddie fights with a traditional Boxing style, which will be totally ineffective against Pettis, who can easily evade basic combinations, whilst landing a wide range of diverse strikes from all kinds of crazy positions.
Anthony Pettis’ only weakness in the past has been his wrestling, but that shouldn’t be a factor in this matchup because Eddie Alvarez is a not strong wrestler. If Eddie did end up getting Pettis to the ground, he would have a big problem on his hands because Pettis has a high level submission game and Alvarez is not a very good submission grappler. It’s also worth noting that Pettis has been training with Izzy Martinez in the lead up to this fight, who is the Wrestling coach at Jackson’s MMA and can often be found cornering fighters like Holly Holm and Jon Jones.
One of Alvarez’s biggest weaknesses is that he tends to start very slow and fight very tentatively. This often leads to him getting hurt very badly in the early stages of a fight. You cannot afford to start slow against a guy like Anthony Pettis, because he has the ability to end a fight at anytime. If Alvarez starts slow in this fight, the contest could be over before he ever gets a chance to settle into his rhythm.
Eddie Alvarez has almost no chance of winning this fight because he is simply too basic, too slow and too easy to hit. I expect Pettis to win this fight easily.
OUR BETTING TIP: 7.5 Units [7.5% of your bankroll] on Anthony Pettis to win at odds of 1.33 | -303 | 33/100

Matt Mitrione vs Travis Browne Betting Tip Prediction
My reasons for betting on this fight to last less than 1.5 rounds are very simple…
Matt Mitrione’s last 7 fights have all ended in the 1st round and 7 out of Travis Browne’s last 8 fights have also ended in the 1st round.
Browne and Mitrione also have vicious knockout power and they’re both very bad defensively. Travis Browne fights with wreckless aggression and both these guys have legit 1 punch knockout power. I’d be amazed if this fight lasted longer than 1 round…
OUR BETTING TIP: 3 Units [3% of your bankroll] on this fight to last less than 1.5 rounds at odds of 1.69 | -145 | 69/100

Chris Wade vs Mehdi Baghdad Betting Tip Prediction
Mehdi Baghdad was branded a K1 Champion on the Ultimate Fighter, but they never specified that Mehdi is actually a regional K1 Champion in France. He’s not actually a fully fledged K1 Champion. This might go some way towards explaining why his striking isn’t as high level as what you would expect from an elite K1 level striker.
Chris Wade doesn’t have very good striking, but it’s good enough to stay competitive with Mehdi, who is very singular in his approach. When Mehdi fights, it looks like he is throwing practice combos on punching bags, because he doesn’t string together his attacks in a natural way. This means that he is relatively predictable and his inability to chain his strikes together will make it easy for Wade to defend against his attacks.
Chris Wade trains in New York with guys like Dennis Bermudez and Ryan LaFlare and he’s very creative at getting fights to the ground. He does a great job of utilizing Judo trips and mixing up a variety of takedowns to make it difficult for his opponents to neutralize his wrestling.
Mehdi Baghdad has a predominantly Kick Boxing base and he’s taking this fight on less than 1 week’s notice. Chris Wade is a strong grappler, who should be able to take Mehdi down and cause him all kinds of problems on the ground. Mehdi doesn’t have the skills or power to hurt Wade standing up. This should be an easy fight for Chris Wade.
OUR BETTING TIP: 3.5 Units [3.5% of your bankroll] on Chris Wade to win at odds of 1.33 | -303 | 33/100
