TOP PICKS
CONOR McGREGOR COST: HIGH There’s an extremely good chance that Conor McGregor will finish Denis Siver within the first couple of rounds, which means he’s an essential pick for your Fantasy MMA team. At the very worst McGregor is likely to win a 5 round unanimous decision, which means he would still score a high number of points. McGregor is expensive, but you absolutely need him in your Fantasy MMA team… URIAH HALL Cost: HIGH Uriah Hall has underperformed since he came into the UFC, but he’s still a beast and he has vicious knockout power. Ron Stallings is 12-6, he lost his last fight and he’s taking this fight on just 6 days notice. There’s an extremely good chance that Uriah Hall will win this fight by knockout or TKO and I strongly recommend that you put him in your Fantasy MMA team. DONALD CERRONE COST: MEDIUM Donald Cerrone matches up well with Benson Henderson and he has the ability to finish fights from any position. Cerrone doesn’t cost that much and he has the potential to score big points by winning inside the distance… SEAN O’CONNELL [Kountermove Only]COST: MEDIUM Sean O’Connell is well rounded, he’s tough and he has knock out power. Matt Van Buren is really easy to hit and he’s got a weak chin. There’s a very good chance that O’Connell will win this fight inside the distance, which makes him a great addition to your Kountermove team. O’Connell is a great pick because he’s a lesser known fighter and most people won’t have heard of him, which means they won’t think to put him in their team. This will give you a point scoring advantage over many other Kountermove players. [divider]
SAFE PICKS
SEAN SPENCER COST: MEDIUM Sean Spencer isn’t known as a finisher, but he is an elite striker and Cathal Pendred has been dropped in both of his UFC fights. If Mike King and Gasan Umalatov were able to knock down Pendred, I believe there’s a very good chance that Spencer will be able to put him away. Sean Spencer doesn’t cost that much and if he doesn’t win inside the distance, he should still score you a good number of points by throwing a high volume of strikes and cruising to a unanimous decision victory. SEAN SORIANO COST: MEDIUM Sean Soriano is a well rounded fighter and he’s a powerful striker. He has been grappled to death in his first couple of UFC fights, but Charles Rosa likes to strike and this will bring out the best in Soriano. I believe that Soriano is a solid pick, because he has a great chance of winning and he doesn’t cost that much… JOBY SANCHEZ [Kountermove Only]COST: MEDIUM Joby Sanchez dropped Wilson Reis multiple times in his UFC debut and Tateki Matsuda is very easy to hit. Matsuda is tough, but so is Reis and Sanchez was able to badly hurt Reis on several occasions. Sanchez isn’t a well known UFC fighter, which means you’ll gain a big point scoring advantage if he wins inside the distance. [divider]
DANGEROUS DOGS
JOHN HOWARD COST: MEDIUM John Howard hasn’t looked good since he returned to the UFC, but he has knockout power, he’s fighting in front of his home town fans and he’s probably going to lose his job if he loses this fight. There’s no doubt that Larkin is the more skilled fighter, but Howard is a cheap pick that could cause an upset and score big points with a knock out win. He also has home advantage on his side and Larkin’s inactivity could open the doors for Howard to sneak a close decision win. ZHANG LIPENG COST: LOW Lipeng probably won’t win this fight, but he doesn’t cost that much and he’s scrappy as hell. Chris Wade is still young and inexperienced and Lipeng showed in his last couple of fights that he’s tough as nails. Lipeng is the type of fighter who will swing for the fences and he’s very active on the ground. I’m not saying that he’s going to beat Wade, but he could score a lucky finish which makes him a high risk, high reward pick that doesn’t cost that much.
