Whilst this fight might seem close on paper, when you study the fighting styles of both guys you will see that Rony Jason’s fighting style is Steven Siler’s Kryptonite. Siler matches up horribly with Rony Jason and to make it worse he has to fight him in Brazil.

At first glance this fight seems really close, because the stats for both fighters are virtually identical, but there are subtle differences in their fighting styles which should make this an easy fight for Jason.
The main difference is how well Rony Jason creates a safe distance between his opponent and how quickly he can close this distance to land strikes. If you checkout some of his fights, you’ll see that his striking defence is excellent. He is extremely hard to hit and when he engages his opponent, he’s able to do significant damage and get out of their range before they have the opportunity to fire back.
This type of counter striking presents a big problem for Steven Siler, because Siler likes to rush in on his opponents to initiate striking exchanges. When he does this, he always takes damage and if he does this against Jason, he’s going to get hurt.
There’s no question that Rony Jason has the better grappling and Jiu Jitsu and for that reason it’s tough to see how Siler can win this fight. He certainly isn’t going to beat Jason in the stand-up exchanges and I seriously doubt his ability to knock him out.
Despite how close this fight looks on paper, I actually think this is the safest bet at UFC Fight Night 38. The odds of 1.55 | -183 | 6/11 are an absolute gift and you’d be crazy not to bet on Rony Jason winning this fight.
