Sean Soriano vs Thomas Webb Betting Tip Prediction
Sean Soriano and Thomas Webb both have professional MMA records of 9-3, but that’s where the similarities end… Soriano is in a completely different league to Webb with all 3 of his losses coming against tough opponents in the UFC. Soriano is currently undefeated outside of the UFC and he’s actually one of the few fighters who looked great whilst going 0-3 in the Big Show. Soriano is a very good fighter and at just 26 years old, I expect to see him back in the UFC before he gets too much older. Sean Soriano is simply better than Thomas Webb everywhere. He’s a significantly better striker, he’s a stronger wrestler and his ground game is a lot more technical. If this fight stays standing, I expect Soriano to pick Webb apart with his more technical striking. Webb is a decent striker when guys stand in front of him, but he’s not so good when he’s facing an opponent who moves around a lot. Soriano is a very mobile fighter and uses a lot of footwork and feints to mix up his striking and confuse his opponent. He also does a really good job of managing range to evade strikes, setup counters and defend against takedown attempts. Soriano is also a much faster fighter than Webb and I believe his speed advantage will be a significant factor in this fight. Soriano is so fast that I expect him to be able to land 2-3 strike combos before Webb has had a chance to counter. Soriano and Webb are both primarily strikers, but Webb has been known to try and take his opponent’s down when he gets tired or put in a bad position. If Webb does shoot for a takedown, I expect Soriano to be able to defend it because he has very good takedown defence. Webb isn’t a very good offensive wrestler and Soriano has been known to stuff takedowns against much more explosive grapplers. If this fight does end up going to the ground, there’s not too much to worry about because Soriano has good enough submission defence to protect himself against anything that Webb can throw at him. He also does a good job of using his Jiu Jitsu offensively to go for submissions or scramble back to his feet. Sean Soriano trains full time with some of the best fighters in the world at the Blackzilians and this gives him a significant advantage at this level of MMA. Most fighters competing in promotions like Legacy FC cannot afford to train full time, so Soriano’s ability to train full time at the Blackzilians will give him a big edge when it comes to strength, conditioning and fight IQ. It’s also worth noting that Thomas Webb missed weight by 6 pounds. This indicates that he is either injured, had a bad weight cut, couldn’t be bothered cutting weight or is severely out of shape. Whatever the reason… Fighters who miss weight by this much go on to lose their fight around 70% of the time. Sean Soriano is a great bet at the current odds because I’d personally cap him at odds of around 1.20 | -500 | 1/5. Be sure to lock in your bets as soon as possible, because I do expect these odds to crash the closer we get to the time of the fight.OUR BETTING TIP: 3.5 Units [3.5% of your bankroll] on Sean Soriano to win at odds of 1.37 | -270 | 37/100[/private]
