We also can’t ignore the fact that Mitrione has absolutely no ground game. If Fedor fights smart and chooses to take this fight to the ground, there is absolutely no question that he will dominate Matt Mitrione.

By the third round this damage had caught up with Davis and it was starting to effect his performance. Bader started to take over and it was enough to help him pickup the decision win. This rematch is going to be 5 rounds for the Bellator Light Heavyweight title and I don’t personally believe that Phil Davis has shown us anything in his last few fights that could stop Bader from implementing the same gameplan.

Since their first fight Bader has made some big improvements to his striking whilst Phil Davis appears to have stagnated. For this reason I recommend betting on Ryan Bader to win…

My reasoning for betting on Bader is simple…

Phil Davis and Ryan Bader are two high level wrestlers, but we saw in their first fight that their wrestling will cancel each other out. This means that this fight will most likely be decided by striking and based on recent fights I believe that Bader has a very definite edge when it comes to striking.

This bet does carry a certain element of risk because this fight will probably be visually close and Bellator and the New York Athletic Commission judging is historically very bad. However… Based on all the information we have I can’t pass up on the opportunity to place a bet on Bader at underdog odds. If the judges are on point, I expect to win this bet easily.
