I’m really sorry that my betting tips for Invicta FC 9 have arrived a little later than usual. This was a really challenging event to tip for, because I started my research on Wednesday when
Paddy Power and
Unibet released their odds. When the odds were released for Sportsbooks in the United States yesterday, they were considerably lower than the odds offered on European, Canadian and Australian betting websites. This meant that I had to reconsider my betting picks, to ensure that they were in the best interest of all my members, irrespective of which country they were from.
Paddy Power’s odds were so generous that they actually suspended betting on Invicta FC 9 after I placed a max bet of £800 on one of my betting picks for this event. Unfortunately they didn’t put the odds back up…
Despite the challenges I’ve faced, I have come up with two solid betting tips which should return us a good profit on this event. The only downside is that you may need to sign up for some new betting accounts, in order to take advantage of these betting tips. This is because one of my tips is only available at
Unibet and
Bookmaker are offering better odds than anywhere else on my other tip.

BARB HONCHAK vs TAKAYO HASHI
Barb Honchak is better than Takayo Hashi in every single aspect of Mixed Martial Arts. She’s stronger, faster and more athletic. She’s also more well rounded and more technical.
Takayo Hashi is a scrappy veteran but she normally competes in Japanese promotions, where the skill level is far below that of MMA promotions in the United States. This will be Hashi’s first time competing in Invicta and she looked very nervous and very timid at the weigh ins yesterday.
Japanese fighters are notoriously slow at adapting to Western MMA promotions and I believe she will really struggle to deal with Honchak’s physicality.
Honchak can win this fight with striking or she can use her powerful wrestling to take Hashi down and control her on the ground.
Barb Honchak is undoubtedly the best female Flyweight on the planet and she already holds notable wins over UFC Strawweight’s Felice Herrig and Aisling Daly. Honchak also defended her Invicta Flyweight Championship in her last fight against UFC Bantamweight, Leslie Smith. With the UFC opening up female divisions either side of the Flyweight weight class, it can only be a matter of time before Honchak signs with the big league. I expect her to walk through Hashi with relative ease, before signing with the UFC towards the end of the year.
I don’t like betting on fighters when the odds are this small, but Honchak’s advantages are so significant, that you have to look at this bet as free money. Be sure to place your bets at either
Bookmaker or
Bovada, as they’re both offering marginally better odds on Honchak than anywhere else.
OUR BETTING TIP: 20.00 Units on Barb Honchak to win at odds of 1.22 | -454 | 11/50

AMBER BROWN vs LIZ McCARTHY
Amber Brown is a good technical striker, but she doesn’t have the best take down defence and she doesn’t throw a very high volume of strikes.
Liz McCarthy is super aggressive and she likes to put pressure on her opponents from the very first second of a fight. She is primarily a submission grappler, but she also has good cage control, decent take downs and a varied striking skillset. She also gets better with every fight and she would actually be on a 9 fight winning streak, if it wasn’t for a very close split decision loss to Jodie Esquibel back in 2013.
McCarthy has been installed as the underdog in the fight, but I actually believe that she has a very good chance of winning. She has good grappling, decent submissions and she should be able to outwork Brown and grind out a decision.
Atomweight fights are often extremely close due to the speed and natural cardio of the lighter weight classes and takedowns and cage control often decide who will win a fight. McCarthy has the clear advantage when it comes to grappling and she should be able to control Amber Brown for significant periods of this fight.
This fight will probably be close, but McCarthy has better grappling, better cage control and she’s a lot more active than Brown. If this fight does go to the decision, McCarthy’s fighting style will almost always score more points on the judges score cards.
Amber Brown has also never fought in Invicta before and this will be her first time competing in over a year. I really feel like Liz McCarthy has a great chance of winning this fight, it’s just a real shame that
Unibet are one of the only betting websites in the world that will take bets on this fight…
OUR BETTING TIP: 5.00 Units on Liz McCarthy to win at odds of 2.20 | +120 | 6/5
