I want to sincerely apologise for our poor results for this event. This is the first time in 3 years that we have lost every single bet on a UFC card and there’s no excuse for it. We had some bad luck on the night, but the guys we picked to win weren’t good enough. We did an extensive amount of research for each of the fights on this card, but inconsistent performances from fighters who competed on the Ultimate Fighter TV show really screwed us over. DAN SPOHN vs PATRICK WALSH

OUR BET: 10.00 Units on Dan Spohn to win at odds of 1.53 | -188 | 53/100 OUR PROFIT / LOSS: 10.00 Units Lost Dan Spohn is strong and athletic with good striking and even better wrestling. He has looked really impressive throughout his career, but he didn’t show up for this fight. Patrick Walsh is a very one dimensional fighter with sloppy striking, but he does have really good wrestling and an incredible chin. Spohn should have been able to use his wrestling as defence and his superior technical striking to pick apart Walsh. It didn’t happen and Spohn didn’t show up. This was a terrible fight and we lost. DUSTIN ORTIZ vs JUSTIN SCOGGINS

OUR BET: 10.00 Units on Justin Scoggins to win at odds of 1.33 | -303 | 33/100 OUR PROFIT / LOSS: 10.00 Units Loss MMA is a great sport because on any given night any fighter can beat any fighter. Sometimes guys show up and have their worst night ever and sometimes guys show up and put in the performance of their life. Dustin Ortiz put in the best performance of his career by beating Justin Scoggins. Scoggins is a super talented fighter and he should have won this. The fight was competitive, but Ortiz looked great. DHIEGO LIMA vs EDDIE GORDON

OUR BET: 10.00 Units on Dhiego Lima to win at odds of 1.63 | -158 | 63/100 OUR PROFIT / LOSS: 10.00 Units Loss Eddie Gordon looked slow and tentative on the Ultimate Fighter, but he came out like an absolute wrecking ball in this fight. His performance was like nothing we’ve seen from him so far in his career and he overwhelmed Dhiego Lima with his speed and power. I felt Dhiego Lima would win this fight, because he’s tough, scrappy and reasonably good at everything. Instead, Eddie Gordon walked right through him and I didn’t give that much chance of happening. COREY ANDERSON vs MATT VAN BUREN

OUR BET: 10.00 Units on Matt Van Buren to win at odds of 3.00 | +200 | 2/1 OUR PROFIT / LOSS: 10.00 Units Loss Matt Van Buren is a well rounded fighter and he trains at one of the best MMA gyms in the world. He’s also got a good amount of experience and there’s no way he should have got completely steam rolled by Corey Anderson, who has only had 3 Pro MMA fights. Again, we got this bet horribly wrong and I can’t wait until the next UFC event, so we can put this absolute train wreck of a performance behind us.
