UFC 186 isn’t a very good event for betting because it’s packed full of overpriced favourites, close match ups and flakey fighters who you can’t trust with your money. There are a ton of fighters on this card who I heavily favour, but I just don’t see any value in the odds. I simply can’t lay the juice on guys like Olivier Aubin-Mercier, Demetrious Johnson, Rampage Jackson, Patrick Cote, Sarah Kaufman and Thomas Almeida, even though they do hold significant advantages over their opponents.
In the past I’ve been guilty of placing bets just for action, but this cost me last year and it’s one of the areas in which I’ve tightened up for 2015. I really don’t see a lot of value on this card and I’m going to be playing this event small to ensure we grind out a steady profit.
This means that I’ve only got 3 betting tips for UFC 186 and I’m not going to kid you guys into believing that they’re exciting picks, because they’re not. I’ve chosen to stick to 3 rock solid bets that should all win and help us to bank a solid profit on this event…

ALEXIS DAVIS vs SARAH KAUFMAN
Alexis Davis and Sarah Kaufman are both very similar because they’re both high volume strikers who are tough as nails. Sarah Kaufman will probably win this fight by out-striking Davis, but Davis certainly has the skills to steal rounds by taking Kaufman down and controlling her on the ground. This makes picking a winner very difficult, but I do like a bet on this fight to last longer than 2.5 rounds…
Alexis Davis and Sarah Kaufman are both extremely durable and this fight will probably end up looking like a game of “Rock em, Sock em Robots”. Both girls are tough enough to take each others best shots and I feel it’s very unlikely that either fighter will win inside the distance.
Sarah Kaufman has fought to a decision in 5 out of her last 6 fights and Alexis Davis has fought a decision in 3 out of her last 4. Both girls are well rounded and they both lack finishing power, which means it’s very likely that this fight will go the distance.
Betting on the this fight to last longer than 2.5 rounds should be money in the bank…
