Chad Mendes vs Frankie Edgar Betting Tip Prediction for the TUF 22 Finale

Fights are won and lost with big moments that often take the form of takedowns or significant strikes landed. Chad Mendes has built a career on winning fights through making significant moments happen in the Octagon and it’s going to be very hard for Frankie Edgar to beat him because he lacks the wrestling to outgrapple Mendes or the power to hurt him standing up. In order for Frankie to win this fight, he’s going to have to either put a big stamp on 3 out of 5 rounds or finish Mendes inside the distance. Both of these outcomes are very unlikely, because Mendes has significantly stronger wrestling and he’s also very durable. Frankie Edgar relies heavily on his wrestling to put his stamp on rounds, but he won’t be able to do that against a much stronger wrestler in Chad Mendes. When Frankie is unable to use his wrestling, his fights are almost always close, because he doesn’t have the power to hurt his opponent’s standing up. Chad is very fast and explosive and he can counteract Frankie’s high volume of strikes by landing the more significant strikes. Frankie could outland Chad 3 to 1, but the judges will remember Chad’s power strikes more than they will remember Frankie’s point fighting style. Chad hits extremely hard and Frankie has shown throughout his career that he takes a lot of damage in his fights. Chad landed big on Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor and I don’t believe that Frankie will be able to deal with Chad’s power. Frankie Edgar is a strong wrestler, but his wrestling is simply not on the same level as Chad’s. Chad Mendes has NEVER been taken down in 15 fights in the WEC and UFC and I believe that there’s a very good chance that we could see him ragdoll Frankie Edgar. One of the biggest factors to take into consideration in this fight is the age and freshness of both guys. Chad Mendes is currently in his prime at 30 years old and he’s one of the fastest and most explosive guys in the Featherweight division. Frankie Edgar is now 34 years old and he has taken a lot of damage throughout his career. In the press conference for this event, we saw Frankie talking with slurred speech and the left side of his mouth was slightly droopy. Frankie has cheated mother nature up until this point, but he can’t keep competing against young, hungry guys like Chad Mendes for much longer. I believe that Chad Mendes will win this fight by using his power strikes and strong wrestling to put his stamp on rounds. I also believe that there’s a very good chance that Chad Mendes will win this fight by knockout. Either way. I expect this bet to be another easy winner.
