We’ve got 8 betting tips for UFC Fight Night 46 as the UFC returns to Dublin for the first time in 5 years.
Conor McGregor was watching the action from the stands the last time the UFC held an event in Dublin, which shows just how far the Irishman has come…
Before I get into my betting tips for this event, I want to discuss the importance of home advantage in MMA.
If you’ve ever visited Ireland, you will know that the Irish people are passionate and patriotic and they will do everything in their power to generate an intimidating atmosphere on Saturday night.
SBG Ireland are the best mixed martial arts gym in Ireland and they have several fighters competing at UFC Fight Night 46. I predict that each of their fighters will show up and look incredible on Saturday night, because many of them have been training for this their entire lives.
We don’t have a large sample of data to study on home advantage in Ireland, because the UFC have only ever held one event there. What we do know is that home advantage plays a big part in the outcome of fights that take place in countries where fans generate intimidating atmospheres. Brazil and Canada are excellent examples of this, because Canadian and Brazilian fighters win around 67% of the time when they compete in their home nations.
With this in mind, lets take a look at our betting tips, picks and predictions for UFC Fight Night 46…

NEIL SEERY vs PHIL HARRIS
After going into so much detail about home advantage in MMA, it’s quite fitting that my first betting tip is picking an Irishman to win.
Neil Seery made his UFC debut against Brad Pickett back in March and he looked incredible. What made his performance all the more impressive, was the fact that he took the fight on short notice.
Brad Pickett is much bigger and stronger than Seery and Pickett was able to use this size and strength advantage to take Seery down. If it wasn’t for Pickett’s ability to take Seery down, Seery would probably have beaten Pickett and caused a massive upset.
There’s no doubt that Phil Harris has better grappling than Seery, but it won’t be easy to get this fight to the ground because Harris doesn’t have particularly good take downs and he doesn’t have the physical strength of Brad Pickett. Seery also has good scrambles and he’s active off his back, which should make this interesting if Harris does manage to take this fight to the ground.
Neil Seery has good enough take down defence to keep the majority of this fight standing and win this fight by picking apart Harris in the stand up exchanges. Harris has shown in the past that he’s a little “chinney” and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Seery win this fight by knock out or TKO.
OUR BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units on Neil Seery to win at odds of 1.73 | -137 | 73/100

CHRIS DEMPSEY vs ILIR LATIFI
Chris Dempsey is a terrible fighter and he doesn’t belong in the UFC. I literally have no idea why he is competing on this card. At first I thought it might have been because he was Irish, but then I discovered that he’s American.
Dempsey is on an 8 fight win streak, but he’s won the majority of those fights because his opponents have absolutely no ground game. I would call his previous opponents “cans” but that would be an insult to actual “cans”.
Ilir Latifi isn’t the best striker, but he is certainly better than Dempsey. Latifi is also a better grappler, which puts Dempsey in a difficult position, because he normally wins fights by out grappling his opponents.
Chris Dempsey really is a poor fighter and something crazy would have to happen for him to beat Ilir Latifi at UFC Fight Night 46.
OUR BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units on Ilir Latifi to win at odds of 1.53 | -188 | 53/100

BRAD PICKETT vs IAN McCALL
Ian McCall likes to get involved in crazy brawls, which would normally play right into the hands of a guy like Brad Pickett. Even if this fight does descend into a brawl, I still favour McCall to win because Pickett is a lot slower than McCall and he’s also very easy to hit.
Neither of these guys have a clear advantage when it comes to grappling. McCall is probably a better technical grappler, but Pickett can compensate for his lack of technique with his size and strength.
McCall should be able to use his speed and superior footwork to win this fight comfortably. I feel that Brad Pickett has to finish McCall in order to win and that won’t be easy… I love Brad Pickett, but I’m tipping Ian McCall to win this fight…
OUR FIRST BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units on Ian McCall to win at odds of 1.67 | -149 | 67/100
OUR SECOND BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units on Ian McCall to land the most significant strikes at odds of 1.83 | -120 | 83/100 [This bet is only available at [adrotate banner=”30″].]

NAOYUKI KOTANI vs NORMAN PARKE
Norman Parke doesn’t have home advantage on his side, because he’s from Northern Ireland, but it’s going to be a hell of a lot easier for him to fight in Dublin, than it will be for Naoyuki Kotani, who is making his UFC debut.
Norman Parke is a nightmare matchup for anyone making their debut in the UFC, because he’s good at everything and fights at a relentless pace.
Asian fighters are notoriously slow starters in the UFC and I don’t see that trend changing in Dublin on Saturday night.
Parke should be able to use his crisp striking and strong grappling, to keep this fight standing and win comfortably.
OUR BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units on Norman Parke to win at odds of 1.33 | -303 | 33/100

GUNNAR NELSON vs ZAK CUMMINGS
Gunnar Nelson is the personification of the modern day Mixed Martial Artist, because he has no weaknesses in his game.
Nelson has been completely dominant in all of his fights in the UFC and even though he is yet to face a serious test, I still believe that his dominance is a clear sign of his talent.
Nelson has looked excellent on the ground in his previous fights, but he also has an unorthodox striking style that is a difficult puzzle for his opponents to work out.
Zak Cummings is one of those fighters who is good at everything, but great at nothing and he’s simply out matched in this fight.
Gunnar Nelson is a much better fighter than Zak Cummings and he should have no problem picking up another win on Saturday night.
OUR BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units on Gunnar Nelson to win at odds of 1.30 | -333 | 3/10

CONOR McGREGOR vs DIEGO BRANDAO
Conor McGregor and Diego Brandao are two explosive fighters who never fight safe.
Both these guys are going to try and take each other’s heads off from the first second and if the fight does get past the first round, Diego will start to fade badly.
There’s just no way that this fight is going to last 5 rounds…
These two betting tips are a sure fire way to earn some extra cash this weekend…
OUR FIRST BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units on this fight to last less than 2.5 rounds at odds of 1.67 | -149 | 67/100
OUR SECOND BETTING TIP: 20.00 Units on this fight not to go the distance at odds of 1.29 | -344 | 29/100
