[adrotate group=”103″]Our betting tips for UFC 177 were disrupted by injuries but luckily those disruptions didn’t get in the way of us banking another steady profit and closing out the month of August with another overall profit. We’ve now made a profit in 5 out of the last 6 events and we’re very confident that we’ll make even more money in September. We’ve already identified several excellent value bets for the next few events, so make sure you continue reading our site as we are really looking forward to helping you boost your betting bankrolls!
Initially we were planning to bet on TJ Dillashaw to beat Renan Barao and Yancy Medeiros to beat Justin Edwards, but those bets fell through due to injuries. We were left with just one bet on Tony Ferguson to beat Danny Castillo and whilst Ferguson wasn’t as dominant as we thought he’d be, he still managed to get the job done. Ferguson’s win banked us a total profit of 4.60 units for this event and I’m just really happy that the judges scored the fight in favour of Ferguson.
I believe that we are definitely seeing a positive shift in the way that MMA judges score fights. In the past, there’s no doubt that Danny Castillo would’ve beaten Tony Ferguson with his lay and pray tactics, but we’ve seen lay and pray punished several times over the last few months, where judges have decided to award the more active fighter the decision win.
I totally agree with the change in the way that fights are judged because I don’t believe that top position should score so well in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. For example Jiu Jitsu fighters enjoy fighting off their back and they are far more dangerous off their back than most wrestlers who would just stall in top position and yet they are frequently punished by the judges when they spend time working submissions from this position.
Miesha Tate beating Liza Carmouche and Tony Ferguson beating Danny Castillo will hopefully send a strong message to fighters who try to lay and pray, that stalling tactics are no longer enough to win a fight.
