I had a clear strategy going into UFC 182… Bet on 3 fighters who had significant advantages over their opponents and as long as Jon Jones and one of the other bets won, we’d make a decent profit to kick off 2015. This strategy helped us to bank a decent profit of 6 units, which gave us a 33% return on our money.
I wanted to play this event safe, because I always like to kick off a new year and a new month with a solid profit. This win helped us to grow our bankrolls by 6%, which sets us up for a very good January.
We’ve now made a profit in 4 out of the last 5 UFC events and the rest of January is looking incredible for betting on MMA. I’ve already got several excellent betting picks lined up for UFC Fight Night 59 and I should have them published to the website within the next couple of days.
My conservative approach to this event did mean that we missed out on winning a little extra money, because I came really close to tipping Garbrandt and Felder to win. I held back on Felder because there was always the risk of Castillo winning via lay and pray and I held back on Garbrandt because Brimage is aggressive, he’s a Southpaw and Garbrandt was making his debut in the UFC. Don’t worry though guys, once we’ve picked up a little more profit, I’ll start to loosen up a bit.
It was also sad to see Nate Marquardt looking so bad. He normally fights very aggressively, but he looked a shadow of himself against Brad Tavares. I guess age and all his PED use has finally caught up with him.
Ending this results article on a high, it was great to see Cowboy go out there and dominate. The fight played out almost exactly like I said it would in my original betting tip for this fight, as Myles Jury spent most of the fight running away from Cowboy, whilst getting beaten up. I don’t want what I’ve just said to sound disrespectful, it’s just that I felt confident that Jury would be an easy match up for Cowboy.
I’m now looking forward to hitting Youtube and UFC Fight Pass hard, as I begin my betting research for UFC Fight Night 59. I’ve already got a couple of really solid bets lined up and I’m very confident that we’re going to make an even bigger profit on that event.
