I’ve now made 49.63 units of profit in the last 5 months and I’m hoping to build on that with another big win in June. UFC Fight Night 68 is a decent card for betting, with good odds available on a lot of fighters who hold significant advantages over their opponent’s. [cjpaco_subscribe_link package_id=”8XWBR8931B” text=”Click here to become a Premium Member” class=”” ][divider] DAN HENDERSON vs TIM BOETSCH BETTING TIP Dan Henderson has looked terrible since he stopped using TRT and his performances will only get worse as he gets older. His stand up game is now woefully inactive and he looks completely lost on the ground. If you go back and watch his fights against Gegard Mousasi and Daniel Cormier, you’ll notice that he looks awkward and frail on the ground and he certainly does not look like an ex Olympic Wrestler. At 44 years old, Henderson is 15 years past his prime and he’s only won 1 fight in the last 4 years. He now looks a shadow of his former self and I believe he’d struggle to beat the majority of Middleweight’s in the UFC. Power is the last thing to go when athletes start to decline and whilst Henderson does still have a powerful right hand, his speed, reflexes and athleticism have declined to the point where it’s going to be difficult for him to use his knockout power. Henderson is simply too slow and too predictable to land a knockout punch on most UFC level fighters. It’s possible that Henderson could land his big overhand right and knock Tim Boetsch out, but after studying footage of both guys I believe it’s highly unlikely. Tim Boetsch is tough, durable and he has a very good chin and this is backed up by the fact that he has only been finished with strikes 2 times in his 26 fight career. Henderson’s speed and reflexes have declined to the point where he is no longer able to react to what his opponent is doing. He cannot counter them. He cannot use feints effectively and he cannot engage in a back and forth striking contest. As a result, Henderson has resorted to using his overhand right as a defensive mechanism to warn off opponents when they try to close the distance. If you go back and watch footage of some of his most recent fights you’ll notice that he starts to uncork his powerful overhand right as soon as he senses that someone is about to close the distance. What you will then notice is by the time he is in a position to throw it, his opponent has got in and out of his striking range and landed a couple of strikes. Henderson’s inability to stay competitive in striking exchanges means that he has now resorted to rushing his opponents in a Wanderlai Silva style attempt at landing something. This will play right into the hands of Boetsch, who does a great job of landing counter strikes whilst moving backwards. Boetsch is also strong in the clinch and has reasonably good takedown defence and scrambles. Henderson has lost his explosiveness and I believe he will find it extremely difficult to take someone like Tim Boetsch down. There will be people betting on Dan Henderson to beat Tim Boetsch at UFC Fight Night 68 on the basis that Henderson can knock Tim Boetsch out, but you could apply this logic to almost any MMA fight. This type of speculative logic is a trap that many casual bettors fall into… [box type=”info” align=”aligncenter” class=”” width=””] I’ve already made 49.63 units of profit in 2015. This means that betting just $10 a unit on each of my betting tips over the last 5 months would have resulted in a profit of $496.30. Betting $100 per unit would have resulted in a profit of $4963 and betting $1000 per unit would have resulted in a profit of $49,630. These factors make it extremely unlikely that Dan Henderson will be able to win a decision against Tim Boetsch, which means that Henderson has to knock Boetsch out in order to win this fight. Boetsch is not an easy guy to knockout and whilst Henderson does still possess knockout power, the danger of his knockout power is largely diminished because he is now very slow, which makes landing significant strikes a lot more difficult. Tim Boetsch wouldn’t stand a chance against Dan Henderson in his prime, but times have changed and Dan Henderson is now 44 years old. Tim Boetsch is still only 34, which means there’s a 10 year age gap in this fight and the younger fighter wins around 70% of the time when there is an age gap this big. It’s unlikely that Tim Boetsch will ever develop into a top 10 fighter, but he’s tough and well rounded and I believe that’s all you need to beat Dan Henderson at this stage in his career.
