Premium Betting Tips & Picks For UFC on FOX 13 Allsopp Uncategorized December 13, 2014 I’ve got 2 excellent Premium Betting tips for UFC on FOX 13 and I’m very confident that all 3 of my bets for this event will win. One of my Premium Picks is a parlay accumulator featuring 2 guys that have massive advantages over their opponents. The other pick is a straight up play on someone who has all the skills necessary to completely walk through the guy that he is fighting. Don’t forget to stop by my MMA Betting forum and let me know what you think of my betting tips for this event… [divider] 2 FIGHT PARLAY ACCUMULATOR | DREW DOBER vs JAMIE VARNER & DEREK BRUNSON vs ED HERMAN This is one of those parlay accumulator betting tips where unless one of these guys gets struck by lightning, we’re going to win this bet. I’ll start off by breaking down Drew Dober vs Jamie Varner… Drew Dober is one of those journeyman MMA fighters who is reasonably good at everything, but great at nothing. Varner is a much better wrestler and striker and Dober doesn’t possess finishing power, which makes it really difficult to see a situation where Dober could win this fight. Jamie Varner fought for 4 minutes with a broken ankle in his last fight against James Krause and he honestly looked better in those 4 minutes than Dober has in his entire career. I don’t like to be overly critical of fighters because I respect anyone who has the balls to step into the cage, it’s just that Dober is not skilled enough to beat a guy anywhere near as good as Varner… Jamie Varner can win this fight any way that he wants. He can light Dober up in striking exchanges or he can take him down and bully him on the ground. Varner will win this fight as long as nothing crazy happens… The second part of this parlay accumulator is Derek Brunson to beat Ed Herman… There’s a lot of hype behind Derek Brunson right now and whilst I personally don’t think he’s that great of a fighter, his skills are like kryptonite to Ed Herman’s fighting style. In my free betting tip for UFC on FOX 13, I spoke about how MMA has evolved and how I don’t believe that Nate Diaz has evolved with the sport. I also don’t believe that Herman has evolved all that much since he fought on season 3 of the Ultimate Fighter and whilst I will cut Herman a ton of slack because he’s 34 and in the tail end of his career, it doesn’t change the fact that Brunson is going to win this fight pretty comfortably. Herman’s biggest problem is that he lacks takedown defence. Rafael Natal was able to take him down pretty easily in his last fight and Natal’s takedowns suck. If Natal can get Herman to the ground, Brunson will have no problem and he’ll be able to do it repeatedly and easily, no matter how many times they get stood up. Herman’s poor take down defence has been the main factor in each of his losses and yet he has failed to do anything about it since he first fought in the UFC back in 2006. Herman hasn’t addressed this massive hole in his game in the last 8 years and I doubt it’s got much better since he last fought back in May. I predict that Herman will be spending a significantly large period of this fight on his back and there’s not a lot he can do about it… Neither of these guys are very good strikers, but I don’t think it will matter because most of this fight will take place on the ground. Herman is probably the better striker, but he’s really slow and Brunson won’t hang around in his range long enough for him to land anything significant. Brunson also has a 4 inch reach advantage over Herman and he fights out of the Southpaw stance. Derek Brunson has fought at Greg Jackson’s gym for most of his career, but he switched his camp to North Carolina for his last fight against Lorenz Larkin. His performance in that fight was one of his worst in recent years, so he decided to switch back to Greg Jackson’s in his preparation for Ed Herman. This shows good maturity and intelligence and I’m hoping we see an improved version of Derek Brunson in this fight… OUR BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units [5% of your bankroll] on Derek Brunson and Jamie Varner to win at odds of 1.69 | -144 | 69/100 The best odds on Derek Brunson and Jamie Varner to win can be found at: [adrotate group=”64″] [adrotate group=”65″] [divider] ANTHONY BIRCHAK vs IAN ENTWISTLE It hurts me to say this because Ian Entwistle is British, but he might just be the worst fighter on the UFC roster. He has a bunch of 1st round submission wins in very small British MMA promotions, but most of the guys he beat were Plumbers, Firemen and Window Cleaners. When you watch Ian Entwistle fight, it kind of reminds you of Ken Shamrock’s fighting style in the early days of the UFC. His strategy is to rush out, close the distance and take his opponent down. If he can’t take them down, he’ll grab onto one of their legs and pull guard. Entwistle has only lost once in his last 5 fights but that’s probably because most of the guys he fought could barely spell submission, let alone to defend one. Anthony Birchak is an exciting fighter with decent striking and excellent grappling. He’s got a solid background in wrestling and he’s got decent submission defence. I really like Birchak’s style of grappling, because he’s great at maintaining dominant position and using ground and pound to prevent fights from being stood up. This fight will probably go to the ground early, as Entwistle will be looking to pull guard and lock in a submission. Birchak should be able to secure top position, defend Entwistle’s submission attempts and ground and pound his way to a dominant victory… OUR BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units [5% of your bankroll] on Anthony Birchak to win at odds of 1.44 | -227 | 11/25 The best odds on Anthony Birchak to win can be found at: [adrotate group=”74″] [adrotate group=”75″] - 0 Share on Facebook Share on X
