We have a quieter week than usual this week, with only one major MMA event taking place. Bellator is returning in a couple of week’s time on September the 9th. KSW is holding an event this weekend, but it’s a low profile card that will be held in a television studio. It appears that KSW are benching their bigger stars until they can start holding events in stadiums again. I am not sure if Live Betting will be available for KSW with any meaningful amount of liquidity, with Corona Virus continuing to impact MMA promotions.
The quality of UFC events also continues to be affected by the Corona Virus as there doesn’t appear to be much thought put into matchmaking at the moment. It feels like the matchmakers are just throwing any two bodies in the same weight class into the Octagon together.
Most cards right now are either full of low-level guys, short notice fighters, or debutants. This weekend we have something different with 8 heavy favorites on an 11 fight card. I’m not sure what this means for prefight betting or Live Betting, but it is unusual to see this many heavy favorites on a UFC card.
I’ll continue to work hard to research all these fights and dig for strong positions to put our money, but it’s definitely harder than usual to dig up good quality bets with the lower standard of fight that the UFC is putting on at the moment. I am looking forward to things going back to normal.
Last weekend will go down on the official results as a close to break-even weekend after we made a loss on Bellator and a profit on the UFC. In reality, it was a solid profitable weekend for most of us because we made a loss on Bellator Live Betting on Friday night, but since you can only bet Bellator on 1 or 2 websites, people would not have lost as much money as they made on the UFC on Saturday night because UFC Live Betting is available on a lot more sites.
Because of this, I ended up making a solid profit last weekend. I only lost money on Bellator on one betting account but profited from our win Live Betting the UFC on 6 betting accounts. It was a solid weekend for me, and I hope you also did well on what was a very tricky weekend for betting.
We didn’t have any prefight bets to review from last weekend, so in the first Livestream of this week, we pay homepage to Frankie Edgar’s incredible achievement of beating the best version of Pedro Munhoz we’ve ever seen at the age of 38 years old!
