[adrotate group=”25″]UFC 171 is the best event to bet on in over 2 months. The card is packed full of really close fights, which means there is plenty of extra value in the odds.
I’ve spent countless hours over the last week reviewing footage and analysing performance metrics and I now feel confident with the picks I’ve made. I haven’t made a loss in the last 5 UFC events and I really want to keep that going with a big win on Saturday night.
My five betting tips for UFC 171 feature 3 underdog picks and two favourites, which will hopefully return us a healthy profit.
My first betting tip is for the prelim fight between Jessica Andrade and Raquel Pennington. Andrade has opened up as a massive favourite in this fight, which presents us with a good opportunity to make money betting on Pennington. I feel like Pennington’s recent sloppy performances and Andrade’s dominant win over Rosi Sexton have helped to cover up the significant advantage that Pennington has in this fight. My second betting tip is for the match up between Hector Lombard and Jake Shields. The performance metrics for this fight swing overwhelmingly in favour of Lombard winning and having reviewed recent footage of both fighters, I can’t help but feel that this will be an easy win for Lombard. I know there are many people that will disagree with me. But people who are backing Shields to win are counting on Lombard having a bad night. If both fighters fight to their full potential, Lombard wins this 9 times out of 10 and for that reason the smart money is on Lombard winning this one. My third betting tip is for the fight between Diego Sanchez and Myles Jury. I found it really hard to put into words the reason why I believe Diego Sanchez will win this fight, but I just think his constant pressure and violent style will be too much for Jury to handle. The odds on Sanchez to win were too good to turn down and you can bet your life on the fact that he’s going to show up and give everything that he has! My fourth betting tip is for the fight between Carlos Condit and Tyron Woodley. I’ve seen several people this week state that they are betting on Woodley to win, because he has knock out power, but this is insane. When you’re betting on a guy to win a fight because he has a punchers chance, you’re basically betting on an outcome that only happens in 11% of fights. Woodley isn’t on Condit’s level and I see this being a pretty easy fight for the “Natural Born Killer”. Click here to checkout our full betting tip for this fight.
My final betting tip for UFC 171 is sure to stir up some discussion because I am picking Robbie Lawler to beat Johny Hendricks. I’m not going to go into the reasons why here, just read the full betting tip for this fight and stop by our MMA Betting Forum to let me know what you think of my reasons.
