Aleksiy Oleinik vs Travis Browne Betting Tip and Prediction
[mpc_divider align=”left” lines_color=”#679f42″ lines_weight=”5″ padding_css=”padding:0px;” margin_divider=”true” margin_css=”margin-bottom:20px;”]Travis Browne has had some bad performances and bad luck over the last few years and it appears he is now hanging on to his job in the UFC by a thread having gone 2-5 in his last 7 fights.
Travis Browne is a frustrating guy because he has all the skills needed to compete with the best Heavyweights in the world but something has been off with him over the last couple of years. However… We also have to acknowledge that he has had some bad luck. He was winning comfortably in his last fight against Derrick Lewis until Lewis pulled a win back from the jaws of defeat and prior to that he dislocated his finger in the 1st round against Fabricio Werdum. Prior to that he got deathshotted by Cain Velasquez at UFC 200, then got KO’d dead against Andrei Arlovski in what turned out to be one of the most exciting Heavyweight fights of all time. Prior to that he broke his rib in the 1st round against Fabricio Werdum, but he still managed to tough it out and go the distance.
Why have I mentioned all that?
I feel I need to mention it because it’s not like Travis Browne has been getting beat by low level opponent’s. Since he came into the UFC he has walked through killers row and was doing pretty good until he hit a wall a couple of years back. Nobody knows the true reason why his development seemed to grind to a hault, but I’m guessing his relationship with Ronda Rousey, accusations about beating up his ex wife and switching training camps from Jackson’s MMA to Edmund Tarverdyan at Glendale Fighting Club had a lot to do with it.
One of the major factors to consider in this fight is that Travis Browne is no longer training with Edmund at Glendale, he hasn’t trained with Edmund for quite some time and in his last fight against Derrick Lewis he showed flashes of the old Travis Browne who was capable of hanging with the best Heavyweights in the world.
Browne is now training with Josh Barnett under the guidance of Ricky Lundell and Ray Sefo. This dynamic is very interesting because Josh Barnett has a very similar fighting style to Aleksiy Oleinik, except that he is significantly better than Oleinik everywhere. If you had to pick the perfect training partner to get ready for a fight against Oleinik, Josh Barnett would be at the top of the list.
The fact remains that Travis Browne is a skilled fighter with a lot of potential. He’s still only 34 years old which is relatively young for a Heavyweight. He still has time to get his career back on track if he stays focused.
It’s no secret that Ronda Rousey and Dana White have a good relationship and I can’t help but feel that their close friendship had a part to play in this matchmaking because it’s undeniable that Oleinik is one of the worst Heavyweight’s in the UFC. This is a free lunch ticket for Travis Browne and a fight that he should win easily. Browne is still young, exciting and could have a bright future in the sport. The Heavyweight division is currently struggling for new talent and the UFC needs to hold onto guys like Travis Browne. This fight feels like the UFC are doing their best to gift Travis Browne a win. Based on my extensive research I feel like they should get their wish. This is a very easy fight for Browne.
Reasons for betting on Travis Browne to beat Aleksiy Oleinik...
[mpc_divider align=”left” lines_color=”#679f42″ lines_weight=”5″ padding_css=”padding:0px;” margin_divider=”true” margin_css=”margin-bottom:20px;”][ultimate_icon_list icon_size=”18″][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Aleksiy Oleinik has really bad knee injuries which means he cannot shoot in for takedowns deep on his opponent’s hips. Instead his takedown entries come really high, which will make it easy for Travis Browne to secure double underhooks and stuff them. Oleinik’s sloppy takedown entries also leave him wide open to Browne’s dangerous knees and elbows from the clinch position.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Leg kicks are a big part of Travis Browne’s game. Aleksiy Oleinik has bad knee injuries. Browne’s leg kicks will be a powerful weapon in this fight.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Travis Browne has excellent takedown defence having defended 83% of all takedowns across 16 fights in the UFC. This is even more impressive when you take into consideration the fact that Travis has fought high level grapplers such as Josh Barnett, Gabriel Gonzaga, Cain Velasquez, Alistair Overeem, Fabricio Werdum and Bigfoot Silva.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Travis Browne does a great job of scrambling back to his feet when he does get taken down.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Oleinik shoots in with lazy takedowns and drops to one knee while he tries to secure a tighter grip on his opponent’s legs or waist. During this time he is essentially on his knees, completely exposed and vulnerable to head strikes. Travis Browne has finished Josh Barnett with deadly elbows from this position. This fighting dynamic is a big opportunity for Browne to score a TKO win.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Aleksiy Oleinik is very accepting of being on the bottom. He will pull guard and he also easily gives up position whilst hunting for longshot submissions. Travis Browne has devastating ground and pound from top position. Oleinik is in big trouble if he gives up top position to Browne.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Aleksiy Oleinik is 40 years old and he has had over 60 pro fights. He has a lot of MMA miles on the clock. He also suffers from bad injuries which have had an impact on his performance as a fighter. [/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Aleksiy Oleinik has bad fight IQ and bad cardio. Travis Browne’s body kicks will speed up the rate at which Oleinik gets tired.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Aleksiy Oleinik is very slow and he has very bad striking defence.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Aleksiy Oleinik’s wrestling is laboured and ineffective having only completed 33% of all takedown attempts across 4 fights in the UFC.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Travis Browne is still only 34 years old which is young for a Heavyweight. This makes him 6 years younger than Oleinik.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″] Travis Browne has been training with Josh Barnett for this fight. Barnett has a similar fighting style to Oleinik but he is much more skilled in every single aspect of MMA. Training with Josh Barnett is the perfect way for Travis to get ready for Oleinik.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Travis Browne fights very long.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Travis Browne rapidly started to decline when he started training with Edmund Tarverdyan at Glendale Fighting Club. The same thing happened to Clay Guida when he started training with Tarverdyan. This past weekend we saw Guida turn his career around with an incredible performance against Erik Koch and I think there’s a good chance Browne re-ignites his career with his new training setup of Josh Barnett, Ray Sefo and Ricky Lundell. [/ultimate_icon_list_item][ultimate_icon_list_item icon=”Defaults-check” icon_color=”#679f42″]Travis Browne has a good chin and he’s very tough. He also has excellent cardio for a Heavyweight.[/ultimate_icon_list_item][/ultimate_icon_list]Risk factors with betting on Travis Browne to win...
