Donald Cerrone vs Darren Till Betting Tip and Prediction

The fight between Donald Cerrone and Darren Till is an excellent opportunity for us to make money because I feel like I have a perfect read on both fighters. Over the last four years, I have bet on Donald Cerrone’s fights 13 times and gone 12-1 for a total profit of 38.14 units. I have also bet on Darren Till twice going 2-0 for 2.81 units, giving us a total combined profit of 40.95 units.

There will come a point in time very soon when Donald Cerrone will start to lose to young, hungry, up and coming fighters like Darren Till, but I don’t think that this day has come yet.

Till is an excellent fighter, but his style is only effective when his opponent allows him to control the pace of the fight. He is very good at being the hammer, but not so good at being the nail. At just 24 years old I do not doubt that Till is going to become a massive star in the UFC because he has all the tools required to be a future Champion, but right now his cardio and single shot style of fighting will prevent him from beating the best fighters in the world.

There is no denying that Darren Till has a legit chance of winning this fight because it is clear that Cerrone is on a decline. If you go back and watch his last few fights, you’ll see that he gets dropped a lot and he also gets hit way too much. This isn’t surprising because Cerrone is now 34 years old with over 40 pro fights. He has also taken a ton of damage throughout his career because he has consistently competed against the best fighters in the world since his early twenties.

There’s no doubt that Till and Cerrone are on opposite career trajectories, but Till has some significant holes that he needs to tighten up before he will be able to pick up wins against world class opponents like Donald Cerrone.

Darren Till is an excellent fighter. He has excellent takedown defense and superb technical striking, but he does not have the cardio to fight at a high pace for five rounds. If this were a 3 round fight I would seriously consider betting Till, but he always fades in the third round, and it’s unlikely that he’ll be able to finish Cerrone inside the distance.

I mentioned earlier that Cerrone gets dropped and rocked a lot, but his chin, defense, and technical ability are still in a different league to Till’s most recent opponents. If guys like Jessin Ayari, Bojan Velickovic, and Nicolas Dalby can go the distance with Till, there’s no reason why Cerrone cannot do the same. Cerrone recently held his own against dangerous opponent’s like Robbie Lawler, Matt Brown and Rick Story, so I feel that it’s unlikely that Till will finish him inside the distance.

Till’s fighting style also makes it unlikely that he’ll finish Cerrone inside the distance because Cerrone has historically struggled against pressure fighters, but Till is more of a technician who likes to pace himself and look for opportunities to counter.

Till is also a single shot fighter, who doesn’t throw combos. Cerrone has a good chin and a good poker face. Single strikes are probably not going to be enough to put him in any real danger unless Till manages to land something really big.

Darren Till is going to struggle against the top 10 guys in the UFC until he can improve his cardio and right now a 5 round matchup is a nightmare for him. Cerrone never gets tired, while Till tends to always gas out by the third round. Till needs to finish Cerrone within the first two rounds to stand any chance of winning this fight and I just do not see it happening. For that reason, I believe Cerrone is a solid bet at the current odds.

Reasons for betting on Donald Cerrone to beat Darren Till

If his opponent is not dissuaded by these counters and can put him on the back foot, he inevitably starts to struggle. Donald Cerrone fights at a high pace and he’s very active.
