Ryan Bader v Anthony Perosh is an intriguing match up because Ryan Bader is a massive favourite despite looking very poor in his recent fights. Before taking a look at the odds for this match up, I honestly felt like this would be a much closer fight than the UFC odds would indicate.
Bader is well known for having one punch knock out power and excellent wrestling skills, but he isn’t a technical striker and doesn’t do that much when he gets his opponents to the ground. I feel like Perosh is a better striker and although he may not possess wrestling skills that are anywhere near as good as Bader’s, he is a Brazilian Ju Jitsu black belt with multiple submission victories throughout his career. If Bader does successfully take Perosh down, then he’s going to have to avoid submissions from the tough Aussie for 15 minutes.
Bader is going into this fight having lost 2 out of his last 3 fights, although those two losses came against top contenders Glover Teixeira and Lyoto Machida. Perosh on the other hand is going into this fight having won 4 of his last 6 fights in the UFC. To be honest, the MMA records of both fighters don’t tell us that much about how this fight may play out, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t study other factors covered in our MMA Betting System to predict the outcome of this fight.
