Ryan Bader v Anthony Perosh is an intriguing match up because Ryan Bader is a massive favourite despite looking very poor in his recent fights. Before taking a look at the odds for this match up, I honestly felt like this would be a much closer fight than the UFC odds would indicate.
Bader is well known for having one punch knock out power and excellent wrestling skills, but he isn’t a technical striker and doesn’t do that much when he gets his opponents to the ground. I feel like Perosh is a better striker and although he may not possess wrestling skills that are anywhere near as good as Bader’s, he is a Brazilian Ju Jitsu black belt with multiple submission victories throughout his career. If Bader does successfully take Perosh down, then he’s going to have to avoid submissions from the tough Aussie for 15 minutes.
Bader is going into this fight having lost 2 out of his last 3 fights, although those two losses came against top contenders Glover Teixeira and Lyoto Machida. Perosh on the other hand is going into this fight having won 4 of his last 6 fights in the UFC. To be honest, the MMA records of both fighters don’t tell us that much about how this fight may play out, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t study other factors covered in our MMA Betting System to predict the outcome of this fight.

OUR VERDICT…
Anthony Perosh is a big underdog in this fight with the best UFC odds available at close to 5.0. In all honesty this fight is a lot closer than these betting lines suggest and with home advantage on Perosh’s side, we’d be crazy not to bet on him in this fight.
Ryan Bader does have one punch knock out power, but he isn’t a great striker. In fact, he’s quite clumsy and struggles against more technical strikers like Perosh. If Bader does manage to get him to the ground then he has to avoid the world class submission game of Perosh, who has a black belt in Brazilian Ju Jitsu. This could be difficult for Bader who has been submitted in the past by Tito Ortiz and Jon Jones.
We’re not fully convinced that Perosh will win this fight, but he does have a good chance and with odds this generous, we need to take advantage and back the Aussie who has home advantage on his side!
