We’ve got 4 betting tips for the TUF 19 Finale, which is headlined by a main event match up between BJ Penn and Frankie Edgar.
My betting tips in this article will be a lot shorter than usual, because I’m currently in Belgium with limited access to the internet!
I’m really sorry for the lack of information in most of the tips. If you’d like to discuss any of these betting tips in more detail, please don’t hesitate to leave me a message on our Forum, I promise that I’ll be checking the forums throughout the weekend!
My trip to Belgium also means that I won’t be able to watch this event live and as a result there will be a delay in adding my betting results for this weekend to the website.
Don’t forget to checkout our betting tips, picks and predictions for UFC 175, which also takes place this weekend.
Now lets take a lot at our betting tips for this event…
DAN SPOHN vs PATRICK WALSH
Patrick Walsh is a game opponent for anyone, but Dan Spohn is better than him everywhere.
Walsh will most probably try to take this fight to the ground, but this strategy could get Walsh in trouble because Spohn has excellent wrestling and good submissions.
Dan Spohn has good striking, knockout power and a decent chin. Patrick Walsh also has heavy hands, but his striking technique is sloppy and basic.
Dan Spohn should have no problem keeping this fight standing and picking apart Patrick Walsh in stand up exchanges.
Dan Spohn is clearly a better fighter than Patrick Walsh and this is his fight to lose…
OUR BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units on Dan Spohn to win at odds of 1.53 | -188 | 53/100

DUSTIN ORTIZ vs JUSTIN SCOGGINS
Justin Scoggins has much better striking and grappling than Dustin Ortiz and I don’t see any way that Ortiz can win this fight.
Scoggins is primarily a switch stance Karate fighter, but he also has excellent take downs and grappling. This will be a big problem for Dustin Ortiz, who has struggled to defend take downs in the past.
I wouldn’t normally bet a fighter to win at these odds, but Justin Scoggins is legit and I fully expect him to win this fight and take one step closer to becoming a top contender in the UFC’s Flyweight division.
OUR BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units on Justin Scoggins to win at odds of 1.33 | -303 | 33/100

DHIEGO LIMA vs EDDIE GORDON
Dhiego Lima is a well rounded fighter who can finish his opponents with strikes or submissions. Eddie Gordon is a powerful wrestler with solid boxing, but he tends to slow down the longer a fight goes on.
Eddie Gordon also has a habit of fighting tentatively and that will cost him against an aggressive guy like Dhiego Lima.
Lima is faster than Gordon and he also has a reach advantage. I believe he can keep this fight standing and pick apart Gordon with his more dynamic striking. This is a good match up for Lima and I fully expect him to win…
OUR BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units on Dhiego Lima to win at odds of 1.63 | -158 | 63/100

COREY ANDERSON vs MATT VAN BUREN
The fighters who tend to win the Ultimate Fighter always seem to be the ones who have made the biggest improvements since their time on the show.
Corey Anderson is a talented young fighter, but I can’t help but feel that this opportunity may have come a little too soon. I have this opinion because he’s only had 2 professional fights and he trains at a small gym in his local town. Matt Van Buren is a lot more experienced with 8 career fights and he trains at Alliance MMA, which is one of the best fight camps in the world.
The Ultimate Fighter Finale is a massive occasion for finalists and the pressure of the big night can have a massive impact on their performance. It’s really important that they have good coaches and a strong team behind them, to help them prepare for the biggest fight of their life. Training at Alliance MMA will be a huge advantage for Matt Van Buren, because he has the benefit of training with former UFC Champions, as well as some of the best coaches in the world.
Matt Van Buren can cause Corey Anderson all kinds of problems because he is well rounded and has heavy hands, good cardio and a strong mentality. Van Buren is also larger than Anderson, with a decent sized reach advantage. This is his fight to lose…
OUR BETTING TIP: 10.00 Units on Matt Van Buren to win at odds of 3.00 | +200 | 2/1
