I would love to see him beat Luke Rockhold, but I’m a realist and it just isn’t going to happen. It hurts me to say this, but Michael Bisping has almost no chance of winning this fight.
I recommend betting 10 units on Luke Rockhold to win, because this is as close to free money as we’re ever going to get. 10 units is the maximum amount of money I would ever recommend betting on a single fighter and I would be blown away if this bet loses.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that Michael Bisping has no path to victory. After researching this fight I honestly cannot see any realistic scenario in which he could beat Luke Rockhold. Bisping’s only chance of winning this fight is if Rockhold were to get injured or disqualified.
Michael Bisping is primarily a striker, but he doesn’t have the skills, the power or the technique to beat Rockhold in a stand up fight. Rockhold is simply too strong and too powerful. Rockhold also has a 5 inch reach advantage and fights out of the Southpaw stance. Rockhold throws devastating kicks to the legs, body and head and it’s almost impossible to shut them down. Even if you manage to block them, they still do significant damage and they’re even more dangerous to Orthodox stanced fighters like Bisping because they’re naturally moving towards Rockhold’s power strikes which are coming from the Southpaw stance.
One thing that has held Bisping back throughout his entire career is his lack of power. He just doesn’t have the power to hurt fighters who are in their prime. This is a big problem against guys like Luke Rockhold because Bisping doesn’t possess the power required to finish this fight or put his stamp on rounds.
This is a really tough fight for Bisping because even if by some miracle he was able to get the better of the striking exchanges, Rockhold still has the option of taking him down and destroying him on the ground.
This brings me onto my next point…
I personally believe that Luke Rockhold is one of the best MMA grapplers alive right now. His MMA wrestling combined with his high level Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is on another level to almost everyone else in the UFC’s Middleweight division. At any time during this fight, Rockhold can easily take Bisping down and dominate him on the ground.
I would love to see Michael Bisping win this fight, but the odds are seriously stacked against him for a reason. He just doesn’t have the skills or weapons to hurt Luke Rockhold in any area that this fight could take place.
We also cannot forget that Bisping got dominated in his first fight against Rockhold and now he’s taking this rematch on just 2 weeks notice. Luke Rockhold is bigger, stronger, more skilled, has a 5 inch reach advantage, has home advantage, fights Southpaw and is 5 years younger than Michael Bisping. This means that Luke Rockhold has almost every single advantage you could possibly want in an MMA fight. Michael Bisping will need a miracle in order to stand any chance of beating Luke Rockhold…
