[adrotate group=”103″]A lot of people lost money betting on Andrea Lee and we were no exception. Roxanne Modafferi had only won 1 fight in her last 7 leading up to this match up and nobody could have predicted that Roxanne would now start to show signs of improvement at the age of 32.
Andrea Lee had all the tools necessary to win this fight, but Roxanne was able to close the distance and control Lee on the ground for large periods of the fight. It was frustrating to watch because Lee looked great in the stand up exchanges, she just couldn’t prevent Roxanne from closing the distance and tieing her up.
Lee losing to Modafferi busted our 2 fight parlay accumulator, which was a real shame because Jinh Yu Frey won her fight in dominant fashion. A bet on Frey was an absolute steal, because she was fighting Cassie Robb who has a professional record of 0-2. Jinh Yu Frey is one of the best Atomweights in the world and Robb never really stood a chance.
I hardly ever bet parlay accumulators because you introduce a massive amount of risk into your bets for such a small gain. I made an exception on this occasion because I was really confident that both these girls would win.
I still ended up making an overall profit for the weekend, but it could have been a lot bigger if Modafferi hadn’t of put in one of the best performances of her career.
