Tom Niinimäki is the first ever fighter to compete in the UFC from Finland and is one of the top ranked Featherweights in Europe. He is currently on an 11 fight winning streak with over half of his victories coming via submission. Niinimäki is an extremely well rounded Mixed Martial Artist who has competed at a high level in both Kick Boxing and Ju Jitsu. On Saturday night he will step into the Octagon for the first time to face his toughest ever opponent in Rani Yahya.
Yahya is currently on an impressive run, winning his last three fights against tough opponents like Josh Grispi and Mike Brown. Yahya is a genuine contender in the Featherweight division and is knocking on the door of a place in the top 10 rankings. If he wins this fight, he is sure to fight a top 10 ranked opponent next and a win there could put him amongst the elite fighters in the UFC’s Featherweight division.

OUR VERDICT…
Yahya and Niinimäki are two high level Featherweights who know how to win. The difference in this fight will be experience and the level of opposition that Yahya has faced. In the last 5 years Yahya’s only losses have been against top level fighters who have competed for the UFC’s Featherweight title. Niinimäki on the other hand hasn’t fought anyone anywhere near the skill level of Yahya and it’s a really tough fight for his first match up in the UFC.
With relatively good odds on Rani Yahya to win, a three fight win streak under his belt and the ability to remain dangerous wherever this fight takes place, we’d be mad not to go with Yahya here.
