I had 8 betting tips for UFC 175. It would have been 9 betting tips in total, but the fight between Matt Mitrione and Stefan Struve was cancelled. I was banking on all of my favourites winning and I only would’ve needed one of my underdog picks to win, to earn a huge profit. Unfortunately, things didn’t go to plan and we ended up making a 28.1 units loss.

Chris Camozzi was a big favourite in this fight and rightly so. He should’ve won comfortably.
Chris Camozzi has shown decent take down defence throughout his career, but he took unnecessary risks which left him open to takedowns. Bruno Santos isn’t very good at taking his opponents down, but Camozzi made it easy for him and that was the difference in this fight…
I really felt like Bruno Santos didn’t have a chance in this fight. Maybe the odds were a little low to take a risk on Camozzi, but when you really feel like there’s no way one guy can win, it’s normally a good idea to bet on his opponent…
Camozzi losing wasn’t totally bad, because out bet on this fight to last longer than 2.5 rounds minimized any losses.

I couldn’t believe how good the odds were on this fight to go over 2.5 rounds. Both these guys lack finishing power and they are both quite happy to fight to decisions.

ALEX CACERES vs URIJAH FABER

Alex Caceres proved that he was definitely worth betting on at the insane odds of 11.42, even if he did end up losing.
Caceres gave Faber a really good fight and there were moments where Caceres looked like he might cause an upset. We lost this bet, but I’d absolutely place it again at these crazy odds. This fight was a lot closer than most people thought it would be and Alex Caceres proved that he isn’t a million miles away from being able to compete at the top of the UFC’s Bantamweight division.

I’m amazed that Thiago Santos survived this fight. He should have been murdered and quite frankly, if Uriah Hall hadn’t of broken his toe in the first round, he probably would have been.
Uriah Hall is simply a better fighter than Thiago Santos and he proved that by completely dominating this fight whilst having to put up with a broken toe for 2 and a half rounds.
I’m expecting big things from Uriah Hall in the future and this fight proved that he is is an extremely tough dude. The 20.00 unit bet on him to win was a good move, I’m just a little disappointed that his injury hampered his ability to chase the finish.

I mean Jesus. 16 freaking seconds? Are you kidding me?
I personally consider Alexis Davis to be one of the toughest female fighters in the world and it’s quite scary how Ronda Rousey was able to finish her so quickly.
It takes some fighters longer than 16 seconds to land a single punch and Ronda managed to knock down Alexis, get her in side control and land 5 or 6 unanswered punches on the ground within this time.
Ronda Rousey continues to impress and I don’t think she’s going to lose for a very long time. I thought this was a good value bet, because Alexis Davis has gone the distance with pretty much every top ranked female Bantamweight on the planet. I didn’t realise that Rousey was this far ahead the rest of the division. She is a beast…

CHRIS WEIDMAN vs LYOTO MACHIDA

I lost this bet but I don’t regret it…
Lyoto Machida showed in the 4th and 5th rounds why he was a great value bet at these odds and he stands a good chance of beating Weidman if there’s ever a rematch.
Lyoto’s problem in this fight was that he started too slow and spent too long feeling out Weidman.
Weidman looked great, but I can’t help but feel that Machida would’ve won if he fought in the 3rd round like he did in the 4th and 5th. If the odds are anything like this in a rematch, I’d definitely bet on Machida again, because I feel like he will have learn a lot about Weidman in this fight and he’ll be able top start a lot strong.
Despite losing, this was a good bet.
