Football Betting Tips – Gameweek 12

Football Betting this week has been a disaster.

After going on a 17 game unbeaten run, Borussia Dortmund went to Atletico Madrid and lost 2-0, even though they had beaten Atletico 4-0, 2 weeks earlier. We had the Double Chance on Dortmund to win or draw…

Then we bet the Double Chance on Young Boys to win or draw. Valencia quit at halftime in the first game, and Young Boys ran the show in a match that they could have won 3 or 4 to 1. Valencia’s recent league form didn’t suggest that they had turned a corner going 3-6-1 in their last 10 games. Last weekend they lost 1-0 at home to a Girona team that was struggling with a lot of injuries. I felt the Double Chance on Young Boys was a great bet at big underdog odds. I was wrong. Young Boys couldn’t defend, and Valencia looked like scoring every time they went forward. Young Boys made it easy for them as their players flew into challenges, creating massive amounts of space all over the pitch for Valencia to exploit.

Then we lost a bet on Both Teams to Score in the game between Bayer Leverkusen and Zurich. When these teams played 2 weeks ago, the game finished 3-2 to Zurich. Zurich had scored in 9 out of their last 10 games, often scoring more than 2 goals and Leverkusen had also scored in 9 out of their last 10 games, again often scoring more than 2 goals. This was a game that looked like it would be full of goals, but it wasn’t, and Leverkusen won 1-0. It was a strange game. Zurich sat back and parked the bus and allowed Leverkusen to dominate. When Leverkusen finally went a goal up after 60 minutes, Zurich had a right go and looked pretty good. Unfortunately, they left it too late and lost the game 1-0. It was a bizarre performance from Zurich, and I can’t help but feel they could have got something out of the game had they played for 90 minutes like they played in the final 30 minutes.

Live Betting wasn’t much better either. We lost a Livebet on Villareal to beat Rapid Vienna. Villareal had smashed Vienna 5-0 two weeks ago, and after 30 minutes they had 65% possession and were creating a lot of goal scoring opportunities. Villareal winning the game seemed like an inevitability. Somehow the game ended 0-0.

We also lost a live bet on Malmo under similar circumstances. After 30 minutes Malmo were dominating the game and creating a lot of chances but couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net. Early in the second half, Sarpsborg scored against the run of play, and the game finished 1-1. Malmo fought hard for the win, but Sarpsborg successfully parked the bus for 90 minutes and got a point. It was a pointless performance from Sarpsborg who will now inevitably be eliminated. They needed a win, and they went out with a wimper, sabotaging Malmo’s Europa League campaign with them.

Then we lost a live bet on Arsenal to beat Sporting. Arsenal created a ton of goal scoring opportunities but Sporting parked the bus for the final 20 minutes, and Arsenal couldn’t break them down despite trying hard for 90 minutes.

Finally, tonight’s losing bet was probably the most brutal of all. We bet Sheffield United to beat Sheffield Wednesday. Sheffield United dominated the game with 75% possession and 17 attempts on goal. The game finished 0-0. Sheffield Wednesday have conceded in every game this season, and before tonight they had conceded 10 goals in their last 3 games.

I have no words to describe how savage the beats were that we took this week. I don’t expect to win all the bets, but I don’t deserve to lose them all either when our money is in such strong positions. The only silver lining is that these losses will help us keep our accounts open for much longer and ultimately make much more money betting on the UFC.

Now it’s time to get back on the horse and try to get the month back in black. I’ve got some really solid Premier League bets for this weekend.
